How do energy drinks work?

Energy drinks help you rejuvenate in two ways. Firstly, after a strenuous exercise or workout, they replenish lost body fluids and help you refresh.

Secondly, as they contain caffeine usually, they effectively block adenosine, a chemical that is required for you to sleep. They also contain taurine that converts body fat to energy. In addition to this, most of the energy drinks contain high amount of sugars that act a catalyst for energy.

Increased consumption of Energy Drinks:

Energy Drink market in our country is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.22% during the forecast period, 2019-2024. Some of the factors responsible for this growth are increasing disposable incomes, rise in urbanization, hectic lifestyles, growing cafes & bars, rising health concerns and increase in the number of athletes, sports persons and fitness-freak consumers in the country.

Long & erratic working hours and the increase in the occurrence of get-together, meet-ups & social gatherings have also acted as a growth driver in the popularity of energy and sports drinks.

According to a trusted report, the total size of energy & sports drinks market is anticipated to cross a mark of Rs. 2500 crore by the year 2021 which proves that the sector has a huge potential in the upcoming years.
